EXECUTIVE TEAM
Stephen Hanbury | Executive Producer | shanbury@fridaynightlive.ca
As co-creator, Stephen helped build Friday Night Live from the ground up, establishing Ryerson's first late night talk show. From FNL's early years on RUtv to now being aired across Toronto on RogersTV, Stephen has his hands in many aspects of the show's production, from the website to desk staining to the many key decisions the show requires. He has also surrounded himself with a rivaled production team that is not only creative, smart, and hard-walking, but hilariously funny! Pursuing a career in live television production, Stephen hopes to make Friday Night Live and Mike Koncan household names.
Lidia Bit-Yunan | Supervising Producer | lbityunan@fridaynightlive.ca
Lidia dipped her feet into the TV industry at the innocent age of 16 at her local television station and immediately embraced its corrupt ways. On mobile productions and news shows, she did everything from operating VTR to writing news stories. After entering the Radio and Television program, Lidia produced RUtv News - a weekly news porgram, multiple short documentaries, took on positions in Marketing and Distribution and interned for shows on CBC, Women's Network, and PBS. On the FNL team, she is known as Napoleon - little but fierce. She is also the only person on the production crew who is not supposed to be funny - after all, production finances are no funny business. She enjoys spending time building great working relationships with FNL sponsors and leading marketing and fundraising initiatives. Lidia not only learned the importance of hard work from the FNL team, but also the importance of viewer advisories.
Mike Valente | Director/Writer | mvalente@fridaynightlive.ca
Mike Valente joined FNL during its primitive stages back in April 2009. During the show's first season, Valente acted as Head of Audio, which included him setting up microphones in the studio and operating the control board during the broadcast of each episode. Prior to the start of the second season, Valente was officially named Director of FNL. Additionally, he has been a member of the writing team for both season's and contributes in many areas of the show's production.
Mike Koncan | Host/Writer | mkoncan@fridaynightlive.ca
Even at a young age, Mike always wanted to be a part of television. While his first love is sports, anything on camera is what he enjoys most. Currently enrolled at Ryerson University in the Radio and Television Arts program, along with hosting Friday Night Live he also can be seen on Swap Shop on Rogers TV Mississauga. While fashion has managed to escape his formal education, Mike has one of the most handsome tie collections ever. While the exact number of ties in his collection is unknown, you can count on him looking sharp and with a smile on his face.
Greg Rosen | Director Of Photography/Writer | grosen@fridaynightlive.ca
Besides having a creepy profile picture Greg Rosen has been working in television since the ripe age of 16. Juggling work as a freelance camera assist and TVA Greg joined the FNL team as Director of Photography and writer since its first season and is also the creator and director of "Hurry Up and Wait". Greg continues to work and provides an experienced presence on and off the set of Friday Night Live.
Lianne Swanek | Segment Producer/Marketing | lswanek@fridaynightlive.ca
When FNL launched in 2009 Lianne started as floor director and a much-needed female presence in the shows behind the scenes sketch series "Hurry Up and Wait". Since the start of the second season Lianne has headed up set construction along with working as Marketing Director and Segment Producer. And of course, still remains Koncan's eyes and ears in studio as Floor Director. Lianne loves FNL and can't imagine spending Friday nights anywhere else!
Jessica Shadlock | Production Manager | jshadlock@fridaynightlive.ca
Jessica has a growing reputation in the television industry; usually as the girl who trips over cables/chairs/her own feet. She has worked as a PA and interned on productions for CBC, Discovery, and HGTV, but working on FNL was something new. In FNL's first season, Jessica helped Koncan look good by lighting the studio and operating the teleprompter. This season, in addition to continuing those roles, Jessica put her love of Excel formulas and Google Calendar to good use as FNL's Production Manager. In charge of scheduling and coordinating production, Jessica perfected the art of Call Sheet design and scoured the city for every bizarre prop the writers could come up with. She also acted as landlady/mother figure to FNL's pet fish, Kevin. Starting in January, she plans to build on this experience interning in Montreal with Back Alley Film.
Rob Heydari | Technical Producer | rheydari@fridaynightlive.ca
Rob Heydari has a long history of being the person you call when something is broken. FNL continues that legacy, as the technical requirements of the show kept this technical producer on his feet for days at a time. Needless to say, no clocks on the FNL set are flashing 12:00 under his watchful eye. Responsible for any and all technical elements of the show all the way from pre to post production, there is little about FNL that this self-proclaimed geek hasn't touched. Rob enjoys Betamax, long walks on the beach, and pressing the play and pause buttons on DVCPRO HD tape decks.
